Is Jake’s Resume ATS Friendly? Check the Actual PDF Text
A readable layout helps. Checking your actual document matters more.
Open this example in the editorWhat the template provides
Jake’s template uses conventional headings, a single main column, and text-based bullet points. Our LaTeX source preserves the template’s glyphtounicode input and pdfgentounicode setting for text mapping.
That does not establish compatibility with every applicant tracking system. Employers use different software, configurations, file limits, and screening rules. There is no universal ATS pass score.
Run a text extraction check
After the PDF is ready, open Text check in the editor. It displays text extracted from the current compiled PDF, in parser reading order.
Verify your name and contact details, headings, roles, dates, and key skills. Check for missing letters, merged words, and unexpected ordering. Compare this with the visual PDF. This is a local parser check, not a test in an employer’s ATS.
Content still needs to be accurate and relevant
Use the terminology that accurately describes your experience. Explain what you built, your contribution, and the result. Add numbers only when you can support them.
Follow the employer’s requested file format. A well-formed PDF may still be unsuitable if the application explicitly requests DOCX.
What we do not claim
We do not claim an acceptance rate, an employer endorsement, or a guaranteed interview outcome. No employer ATS has been tested merely because this page exists.
The Text check result is generated from your document when you use the editor. It does not represent a fabricated benchmark or an aggregate score.
